MEDIA EVENTS-PERMISSION TO PUBLISH

From time to time students and families will be involved in activities which may be of interest to the media or useful in promoting the school through information brochures or our school website. To acknowledge and celebrate student achievement, children's work including writing, artwork, photographs of school/class activities may be used. Staff may also video students engaging in teaching and learning experiences. To ensure no child is filmed or photographed against their wishes, the school has established a register of students who are not to be filmed or have their photograph and work are not to be used for the above activities. These permission to publish forms are sent home at the beginning of the school year.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS

Individual health plans are required to ensure the safety and welfare of students with serious medical conditions.  Parents are asked to provide a photograph and details of the child's medical conditions (with doctor's approval).  These are maintained in the administration area, library, computer room as well as individual copies given to the child's class teachers.  It is anticipated that enhanced staff awareness and understanding will result in the utilization of effective preventative and emergency strategies to meet student needs.

MEDICATION

If your child requires medication during the day, parents can come to the school office to administer this. If a parent or emergency contact is unavailable to administer the medication, a signed medication note needs to be completed and brought to the office along with the medication and instructions.

MEET THE TEACHER

At the beginning of every school year, we hold a meet the teacher evening where you meet your child's classroom teacher.

MERIT AWARDS

The merit award system is designed to award effort, achievement and good behaviour. Students accumulate ‘Purchase Pride awards'until they collect enough for a larger award. Bronze winners enjoy morning tea with the principal.

MOBILE PHONES

Mobile phones should be used responsibly at school, in a way that does not disrupt others. We therefore ask parents and teachers to turn off their phones or switch them to silent when they are in classrooms, attending meetings and attending assemblies. Students bring mobile phones to school at their own risk and are advised to label these with their names. The school does not accept responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged mobile phones. Students should leave their mobile phone out of sight in a school bag,        preferably in a locked or hidden compartment. It should be set to silent or switched off in this situation.

MONEY COLLECTION

Term invoices are sent to each family at the beginning of the term, which include all or most of the costs incurred for the term. These costs could include excursions, incursions, activities and other costs. Parents can pay invoices by cash, credit card or cheque. Money is to be placed in a clearly labelled envelope with the child's name and class and placed in the black fees collection box located in the front office.
