P

PARENTS AND CITIZENS ASSOCIATION

P & C meetings are held on the second Monday from 7pm in the Annexe (next to the school hall) and all parents are warmly welcome to attend. There are a number of P & C committees, events and fundraising activities which all parents are welcome to participate in.

PARENT HELPERS

The school welcomes the assistance of parents.  There are opportunities to assist in the classroom, in the library, in the canteen and with sport.  Please let us know if you have time and would like to assist. To assist, you must sign the Working with Children declaration and provide the school with 100 points of identification. The forms are available on our school website, johnpurch-p.schools.nsw.edu.au under the 'NOTES and FORMS' tab.

A structured program is in place for a Parent/Tutor Reading Program.  Its success depends upon many volunteer parents.  It is preceded by a workshop.  If you can help please contact the school.

PARKING

Parking facilities at the school are very limited. Parents are asked not to park in the school grounds or walk their children through the school car park for safety reasons. There is a ‘kiss and drop' zone, with a 2 minute limit, on Purchase Rd. There is also street parking available on some sections of Purchase Rd and its side streets.

PEER SUPPORT

During Term 2 of each school year our school implements a peer support program that is run by our Year 6 students to assist the development of their leadership skills. This program focuses on the development of skills such as resilience amongst students.

PERMISSION NOTES

All permission notes for activities outside the school must be returned to the school signed by a parent/caregiver. Students cannot attend an excursion without a signed permission note.

PHOTOGRAPHY AT SCHOOL EVENTS

When attending school events, please photograph only your own child. If you are photographing other students, ensure you have their parental permission to do so.
